Allen-Bradley MP-Series and TL-Series Electric Cylinders Offer Machine Builders Improved Flexibility and Efficiency
The new Allen-Bradley MP-Series and TL-Series electric cylinders offer machine builders a quieter, cleaner and more energy-efficient alternative to pneumatics and other non-servo methods for linear motion actuation.

While non-servo linear motion solutions are often noisy and inefficient with limited control functionality, the TL-Series and MP-Series cylinders provide users with flexible servo control that allows for accurate positioning, as well as forces which can build very quickly.
With the ability to synchronise and coordinate with multi-axis machine motions, the new cylinders provide a dynamic, precise response for a wide range of linear motion applications, including molding, welding, assembly, pick-and-place, glue dispensing, web tension control, blade positioning and lane diverters.
The MP-Series and TL-Series electric cylinders use RSLogix 5000 programming software to extend and retract with precise positioning, velocity or force. In force mode, these electric cylinders push the load in a manner similar to an air cylinder, but with the convenience of a limit established using state-of-the-art software. The cylinders also allow users to experience simple integration and assembly with reductions in mechanical design engineering, assembly, wiring and commissioning time.
With speeds up to 1 meter per second and positioning repeatability of ± 0.02 mm, these non-rotating stainless-steel piston rod actuators operate without externally mounted limit or home switches. As a result, they retain position during a power loss for a faster machine restart.
