SAFETY SPECIAL
All you need to know to re-certify your machines to the NEW European Machinery Directive
With such a broad reach – both technologically and geographically – we see a wide range of legislation and a huge variety of both local and international standards. But there is one thing common to all industries and countries we serve and that is the need for a reliable safety infrastructure.
The new Machinery Directive goes a long way to help ensure this by referencing new Functional Safety Standards. These standards can be used to demonstrate conformance but will require a change in approach. The articles in this newsletter will highlight how you can get ready for this change. And, in addition to this information, we offer a set of tools and supporting services to assist you through this transition.
Everyone wants their machines and plant to be safe, but they also want to make sure that safety does not affect their day-to-day operations. By looking at the ‘bigger picture’ – taking a holistic approach – Rockwell Automation and our partners are able to offer specialist advice and appropriate equipment, often helping many of our customers revolutionise their automation and safety systems. Also, by integrating safety and automation into one platform where required, we can help resolve many of the issues relating to separate safety infrastructures that use discrete networks, programming languages and hardware requirements.
